We’re frequently asked about the origins of the restaurant’s name. “Cackleberries” is a loving nod to our grandfather Jewell Quick, who everyone called Dude. He grew up during the Great Depression on a farm in Sullivan County. He was a kind and generous soul with a wonderful sense of humor. His colorful speech was full of rural phrases and vernacular, and he would refer to eggs as “cackleberries”.
Although he has since passed away, he is still dearly loved and missed, and it makes us happy to remember him with this restaurant today.
At Cackleberries, our goal is to provide tasty food, friendly service and good, old-fashioned value to every customer, every time. We appreciate your business.
